Developmental Therapy (DT) - Individuals that have developmental disabilities often require repeated and varied opportunities to learn and practice age-appropriate skills so that they are able to live as independently as possible. As a developmental disabilities agency, Positive Connections provides services that assist clients as they learn and acquire necessary social, academic or vocational, and basic living skills. We offer tailored, individualized plans to meet the specific needs of both children and adults.

Intensive Behavioral Intervention (IBI) – For those with a developmental diagnosis at a level of behavior severity that impedes them from advancing with Developmental Therapy alone. Children with special needs often require a more highly structured environment in order to learn age-appropriate skills. Positive Connections provides such an environment through a highly innovative program called Intensive Behavioral Intervention.
This program is especially appropriate for children with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, T.B.I., or other developmental disabilities. Specialists are fully supportive of parents to ensure a consistent learning environment. I.B.I. state-certified staff implement applied behavioral analysis using interventions from Lovass, TEACCH, and PECS.

Adult Mental Health - Help is available for those who struggle with long or short-term periods of mental or emotional illness. Some mental and emotional illnesses are caused by changes in the brain, disease, or injury. Whatever the cause may be, these illnesses can be managed quite effectively with one or more of the following services:

Counseling
Crisis Intervention
Anger Management
Adult Living Skills and Rehabilitation Services

Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SA/IOP) - Help is available for those who struggle with long- or short-term periods of mental/emotional health and substance abuse related issues. These two issues are linked and must be addressed as one integrated treatment program to be most effective. Whatever the cause may be, these illnesses can be managed quite effectively with our Dual Diagnosis Enhanced (Co-Occurring) treatment program which includes Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, Relapse Prevention, Women’s Groups, case management, medication management, and integration of PSR and clinical services as needed. We work closely with the judicial system, Judges, Courts, Probation/Parole Officers, Attorneys, Health & Welfare, and other community-based agencies to provide the best team approach possible.

In addition we sponsor a number of community support groups that are provided at no cost to members of our community.

Dual-Diagnosis Recovery Anonymous (DRA) – This is a volunteer program that is led by a qualified clinician and is designed to support clients who have had or are in recovery from mental health and substance abuse issues.
Suicide Survivor Grief Support Group - This is a volunteer program that is led by a qualified clinician and is designed to support members of the community who have lost a loved one to suicide.
